FAQ

"You're Such a Lovely Audience ... "

It truly is wonderful to be here, and certainly a thrill! We've heard from many, many new friends and fans over the past few months, thanks to our appearance on the Howard Stern Show and at different venues. We'd like to welcome you all and to answer some questions that have come up often.

Where can I buy a CD / DVD?

What's the theme for a show that has no theme listed?

When are you coming to my city?

Can you tell me about the venue? (Club or theatre (standing or sitting), parking, age limits, photo policies, etc.)

Where can I buy Fab Faux tee-shirts, stickers, pins, key chains and stuff?

Do you take requests / dedications?

Where can I buy a CD / DVD?

There are no Fab Faux CD's of Beatles music out, and we don't see that happening. It's the BEATLES music that we revere ... true, some may not be mastered the way you would hope it to be, but that's our source material. What the Fab Faux are about, is trying to do justice to that music in a live setting.

That's not to say there are no recordings. In 2002, the Fab Faux contributed an original track, "Somehow," to a compilation, "Why Don't We Do It In Abbey Road," produced by Cavern City Tours, Ltd.

Amnesty International's global music activism project, "INSTANT KARMA - the Campaign to Save Darfur," was launched last June to a great response from the public). Earlier in 2007, the Fab Faux were honored to be authorized by Yoko Ono and her organization to record the John Lennon song "I Don't Want To Face It." The effort includes a CD with more than twenty Lennon songs recorded by artists such as Green Day, R.E.M., Christina Aguilera, Jack Johnson, Aerosmith, and more, plus additional songs available for download (that's where the Fab Faux effort comes in).

"I Don't Want to Face It" got such great reviews that the Fab Faux were asked to make a video of the song to be downloaded from iTunes. That download should be available from iTunes now -- but you can enjoy the low-resolution version on YouTube.

Special thanks go out to Fred Kevorkian at Kevorkian Mastering for donating his time to master our number!

Amazon.com briefly offered a release of the DVD, "Paul Shaffer and His British Invasion," the 2005 benefit for Mike Smith, who died on February 28th. Mike, former lead vocalist and keyboard player for the Dave Clark Five, had suffered extensive paralysis in a fall in 2003. On that August 2005 night at B.B. King's, many of Mike's friends and fans gathered to pay tribute to the man and his music. The evening featured the Fab Faux as well as The Zombies, Billy J. Kramer, Denny Laine, and a reunion of Peter and Gordon.

A shorter version of the program has aired on VH1 and MTV stations.

A closing word on CDs / DVDs ... technology can be a wonderful thing. It's understood that people want to capture performances they like. Please respect the house rules. If recordings are low-fidelity and for personal use (no money changing hands, please!) we're cool with that, but we ask that you not post the results on public sharing sites (YouTube, MySpace) without letting us know. Thanks.

The Fab Faux sometimes do themed shows (Psychedelic Years, Solo Years, Movie Music, or albums in their entirety). What's the theme for a show that has no theme listed?

If no theme is listed, you can count on it to be a surprise package covering the entire Beatles repertoire. For many in our audience at those shows, part of the fun is guessing what number will come next, based on the instruments and the personnel on stage, so setlists are not announced in advance.

When are you coming to my city?

We've been overwhelmed by the many, many requests for us to appear in different cities and towns in the United States and Canada. Demand has been concentrated in a few cities in particular; we're busy right now trying to make those appearances happen.

Can you tell me about the venue? (Club or theatre (standing or sitting), parking, age limits, photo policies, etc.)

We play lots of different venues, from dance clubs to elegant theatres to outdoor festivals. Our focus will always be on bringing you the music as well as we can. If you have a certain show in mind and have questions regarding the venue, or will need special accommodations, please contact the box office or promoters directly.

Where can I buy Fab Faux tee-shirts, sticker, pins, key chains and stuff?

We have lots of great stuff to offer, but at this moment they're only available at Fab Faux shows where we're allowed to sell merchandise. We are working on a new website design that will hopefully make stuff available online in the near future!

Do you take requests / dedications?

We wish we could, but we receive too many requests to honor them all.
